Last month, I wrote a lengthy post on P.Col. XI 293. The question was whether this particular manuscript should be given a Gregory-Aland number and included in the official manuscript Liste. I said yes, but I wanted to hear what others thought so I took a poll. The results? 38 (95%) voted yes and 2 (5%) voted no. One of the "no" voters indicated in the comments to that blog post that the "Gothic T (for 'Talisman') should be reintroduced in the apparatus, and this item should be one of the many items identified in this category." In other words, E. von Dobschütz category should be resurrected. In any case, the results are clear: readers agree that P.Col. inv. 293 should be included in the Liste. Now we have to get Münster on our side!
I have been away from the blog for longer than usual due to extensive holiday travel and a busy start of the semester. I am teaching RELI 302 "Christian Origins" this term and am enjoying it so far. I am taking my students to McGill University to see some papyrus manuscripts housed there, including some from Oxyrhynchus! In any case, I should be back to posting on a normal schedule in the coming weeks.
